Tramwaj ten stanowi now\u0105, cz\u0119\u015bciowo niskopod\u0142ogow\u0105 konstrukcj\u0119 czteroosiow\u0105, czym znacznie rozszerzy\u0142a si\u0119 oferta PTMF w tym zakresie. Kompleksowe badania nowego tramwaju zosta\u0142y zako\u0144czone w maju 2008 roku i od drugiej po\u0142owy roku ruszy\u0142a seryjna produkcja. LM-2008 rozpoczyna now\u0105 gam\u0119 w produktach zak\u0142adu, stanowi\u0105c\u0105 kontynuacj\u0119 trendu zapocz\u0105tkowanego przez przegubowy model LVS-2005. Tramwaj ma d\u0142ugo\u015b\u0107 15 metr&oacute;w, szeroko\u015b\u0107 2,5 metra, a niska pod\u0142oga znajduje si\u0119 na wysoko\u015bci 350 mm nad g\u0142&oacute;wk\u0105 szyny i stanowi ona 40% d\u0142ugo\u015bci pojazdu. W cz\u0119\u015bci niskopod\u0142ogowej zabudowano dwoje szerokich drzwi pozwalaj\u0105cych na szybk\u0105 wymian\u0119 pasa\u017cer&oacute;w. W tramwaju zastosowano r&oacute;wnie\u017c nowe w&oacute;zki firmy BonaTrans z dwoma stopniami uspr\u0119\u017cynowania oraz pozwalaj\u0105ce na zastosowanie pod\u0142ogi nad w&oacute;zkami obni\u017conej do 750 mm nad g\u0142&oacute;wk\u0105 szyny, podczas gdy w innych konstrukcjach jest to 900 mm. Nowo\u015bci\u0105 jest r&oacute;wnie\u017c zastosowanie silnik&oacute;w asynchronicznych pr\u0105du przemiennego o mocy jednostkowej 55 kW, co pozwala na osi\u0105gni\u0119cie pr\u0119dko\u015bci maksymalnej 75 km\/h. Tramwaj wyposa\u017cono r&oacute;wnie\u017c w system antypo\u015blizgowy k&oacute;\u0142, a na dachu pojawi\u0142 si\u0119 pantograf firmy Lekov. W podstawowym wariancie w tramwaju mo\u017cna zabudowa\u0107 19 do 31 siedze\u0144, natomiast maksymalna pojemno\u015b\u0107 wynosi 165 os&oacute;b. O\u015bwietlenie wn\u0119trza jest zrealizowane na podstawie lamp LED, tramwaj ma r&oacute;wnie\u017c d\u017awi\u0119kowy system informacji pasa\u017cerskiej. Dodatkowo drzwi s\u0105 otwierane za pomoc\u0105 przycisk&oacute;w i s\u0105 wyposa\u017cone w czujniki przeciwdzia\u0142aj\u0105ce przytrza\u015bni\u0119ciu. Tramwaj wyposa\u017cono r&oacute;wnie\u017c w system monitoringu.
