Wed\u0142ug plan&oacute;w, na linii kolejowej Szachty &ndash;Ili\u0144sk (&#1064;&#1072;&#1093;&#1090;&#1099;&ndash;&#1048;&#1083;&#1100;&#1080;&#1085;&#1089;&#1082;) zbudowany zostanie tunel, a na trasie Korsakow &ndash;Nogliki (&#1050;&#1086;&#1088;&#1089;&#1072;&#1082;&#1086;&#1074;&ndash;&#1053;&#1086;&#1075;&#1083;&#1080;&#1082;&#1080;) most kolejowy. Realizacj\u0119 tego projektu rozpocz\u0119to w 2003 r. i w tym czasie przekazano do ruchu 21 most&oacute;w kolejowych, na linii Pobjedino &ndash;Onor (&#1055;&#1086;&#1073;&#1077;&#1076;&#1080;&#1085;&#1086;&ndash;&#1054;&#1085;&#1086;&#1088;) u\u0142o\u017cono kable optyczne, przebudowano stacj\u0119 Czechow (&#1063;&#1077;&#1093;&#1086;&#1074;), oraz zbudowano now\u0105 lini\u0119 wraz z nowymi tunelami nr 22 i 23 na linii Szachta &ndash;Ili\u0144sk (&#1064;&#1072;&#1093;&#1090;&#1072;&ndash;&#1048;&#1083;&#1100;&#1080;&#1085;&#1089;&#1082;). Umo\u017cliwienie przejazdu poci\u0105g&oacute;w szerokotorowych ma nast\u0105pi\u0107 w 2011 roku. W dalszym planie jest po\u0142\u0105czenie wyspy tunelem, mostem lub grobl\u0105 z &bdquo;Wielk\u0105 Ziemi\u0105&rdquo;a tak\u017ce z japo\u0144sk\u0105 wysp\u0105 Ezo &ndash;Hokkaido (&#21271;&#28023;&#36947;). Obecnie przewozy wagon&oacute;w kolejowych z Rosji na wysp\u0119 odbywaj\u0105 si\u0119 trzema promami, kt&oacute;re w skrajnych warunkach atmosferycznych nie zawsze mog\u0105 wyp\u0142yn\u0105\u0107.
