FinEst Bay szacuje, \u017ce budowa tunelu kosztowa\u0107 b\u0119dzie 15-20 miliard\u00f3w euro (70-94 miliard\u00f3w z\u0142otych). Obecnie ponad osiem milion\u00f3w ludzi rocznie przemierza Zatok\u0119 Fi\u0144sk\u0105, a ruch pasa\u017cerski na tej trasie ma wzrosn\u0105\u0107 wed\u0142ug prognoz FinEst w szybkim tempie, osi\u0105gaj\u0105c poziom 30 milion\u00f3w pasa\u017cer\u00f3w do 2030 r. Nowy tunel ma obs\u0142u\u017cy\u0107 rosn\u0105c\u0105 liczb\u0119 pasa\u017cer\u00f3w i os\u00f3b podr\u00f3\u017cuj\u0105cych w celach zarobkowych i wypoczynkowych mi\u0119dzy stolicami. Finlandia i Estonia podpisa\u0142y protok\u00f3\u0142 ustale\u0144 dotycz\u0105cy wsp\u00f3\u0142pracy przy rozwoju du\u017cych projekt\u00f3w transportowych, w tym tunelu kolejowego Helsinki-Tallin i Rail Baltica. Porozumienie obowi\u0105zuje do 2030 roku i ma zapewni\u0107 lepsze warunki do ubiegania si\u0119 o fundusze z Unii Europejskiej na realizacj\u0119 tych projekt\u00f3w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Najd\u0142u\u017cszym podmorskim tunelem kolejowym na \u015bwiecie pod wzgl\u0119dem ca\u0142kowitej d\u0142ugo\u015bci jest tunel pod cie\u015bnin\u0105 Tsugaru, \u0142\u0105cz\u0105cy japo\u0144skie wyspy Honsiu i Hokkaido.
