Jednak wed\u0142ug najnowszych wypowiedzi przedstawicieli SNCF linia ta nie nadaje si\u0119 dla ruchu towarowego. Po pierwsze zastosowano tam zbyt du\u017ce pochylenia aby m&oacute;c po niej prowadzi\u0107 poci\u0105g towarowy z jedn\u0105 lokomotyw\u0105. W efekcie poci\u0105g musia\u0142by by\u0107 ci\u0105gni\u0119ty dwoma lokomotywami z trzeci\u0105 popychaj\u0105c\u0105 na niekt&oacute;rych odcinkach. Drugim problemem b\u0119d\u0105 zbyt du\u017ce op\u0142aty za przejazd, co by\u0142o ju\u017c wymieniane podczas przyznawania koncesji na budow\u0119. Po trzecie tunel pod Pirenejami d\u0142ugo\u015bci 8,2 km b\u0119dzie mia\u0142 jedynie system ETCS poziom 2, bez stosowanych we Francji system&oacute;w KVB. To powoduje, \u017ce na tras\u0119 b\u0119d\u0105 musia\u0142y wyje\u017cd\u017ca\u0107 specjalnie wybrane lokomotywy. Dodatkowo lokomotywy na t\u0105 tras\u0119 b\u0119d\u0105 musia\u0142y by\u0107 tr&oacute;jsystemowe (25 kV 50 Hz AC, 1,5 kV DC oraz 3 kV DC). W zwi\u0105zku z tym SNCF rozwa\u017ca alternatywn\u0105 mo\u017cliwo\u015b\u0107 dobudowy trzeciej szyny do istniej\u0105cej w Hiszpanii tradycyjnej linii szerokotorowej.
