Ze wzgl\u0119du na \u015brednic\u0119 zestaw\u00f3w ko\u0142owych nap\u0119dnych (1450 mm) zosta\u0142y sklasyfikowane jako lokomotywy towarowe (litera \u201eT\u201d w oznaczeniu serii). W pierwszej grupie z lat 1950-52 powsta\u0142o 91 egzemplarzy dla PKP (78 HCP i 13 Fablok) oraz lokomotywy sprzedane na eksport. Po trzyletniej przerwie, w 1955 r., uruchomiono produkcj\u0119 drugiej grupy 100 parowoz\u00f3w z pewnymi zmianami konstrukcyjnymi, zrealizowanej w ca\u0142o\u015bci w chrzanowskim Fabloku. Maszyny z pierwszej grupy produkcyjnej rozpocz\u0119\u0142y s\u0142u\u017cb\u0119 w dyrekcjach: warszawskiej, lubelskiej, katowickiej, \u0142\u00f3dzkiej, szczeci\u0144skiej i gda\u0144skiej. Zbudowane p\u00f3\u017aniej trafi\u0142y tak\u017ce do dyrekcji krakowskiej i wroc\u0142awskiej. PKP otrzyma\u0142y bardzo u\u017cyteczn\u0105 seri\u0119 lokomotyw, szczeg\u00f3lnie docenion\u0105 w warunkach DOKP Krak\u00f3w i DOKP Wroc\u0142aw, gdzie na liniach g\u00f3rskich wykorzystywano j\u0105 z powodzeniem do prowadzenia poci\u0105g\u00f3w osobowych i pospiesznych.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TKt48-36 zosta\u0142a zbudowana w 1951 r. w Zak\u0142adach Przemys\u0142u Metalowego im. J. Stalina w Poznaniu. Swoj\u0105 s\u0142u\u017cb\u0119 rozpocz\u0119\u0142a w Skar\u017cysku-Kamiennej, a zako\u0144czy\u0142a j\u0105 w parowozowni w Mi\u0119dzyrzeczu.
