Do zastosowa\u0144 kolejowych dopuszczane s\u0105: ska\u0142y magmowe, przeobra\u017cone i osadowe o lepiszczu krzemionkowym. Pot\u0142uczone kruszywo musi charakteryzowa\u0107 si\u0119 odpowiednimi parametrami, definiuj\u0105cymi klas\u0119 podsypki. S\u0105 to: wysoka wytrzyma\u0142o\u015bci\u0105 na \u015bciskanie (160 MPa dla linii magistralnych), niska \u015bcieralno\u015b\u0107 (w b\u0119bnie Devela nie wi\u0119ksz\u0105 ni\u017c 5,6%), niewielka nasi\u0105kliwo\u015b\u0107 (do 1,5%) oraz mrozoodporno\u015b\u0107 (do 1,5% ubytku masy). Limitowana jest r&oacute;wnie\u017c zawarto\u015b\u0107 ziaren o nieodpowiednich wymiarach &ndash;zbyt du\u017cych i zbyt ma\u0142ych. Udzia\u0142 ziaren mniejszych ni\u017c 2 mm powinien stanowi\u0107 poni\u017cej 2%. Popularnie stosowane kruszywo kolejowe okre\u015bla si\u0119 oznaczeniem 31,5\/50, gdzie 31,5 i 50 to wymiary dolnego i g&oacute;rnego sita w mm. Po\u017c\u0105dane uziarnienie kruszywa kolejowego to 20-63 mm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Konkretnym przyk\u0142adem \u017ar&oacute;d\u0142a t\u0142ucznia jest granit z kamienio\u0142omu Glensanda w Szkocji oraz gnejs z kamienio\u0142omu Halsvik w Norwegii. Kruszywo 31,5\/50 otrzymuje si\u0119 poprzez rozdrabnianie kamienia w kruszarce, przyk\u0142adowo w maszynie Extec C-12 nap\u0119dzanej silnikiem Caterpillar C-9 o mocy 350 KM, krusz\u0105cej kamie\u0144 mechanicznie za po\u015brednictwem szcz\u0119k. Inni producenci kruszywa to m. in. Typy linii zestawione s\u0105 w tablicy 1 tomu I standard&oacute;w technicznych PKP PLK.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Zastosowanie podsypki z recyklingu jest dopuszczalne dla pr\u0119dko\u015bci maksymalnych toru do 120 km\/h. Przy pr\u0119dko\u015bciach wy\u017cszych, ale do 160 km\/h, mo\u017cliwe jest jej zastosowanie jedynie w najni\u017cszej warstwie pryzmy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ni\u017csze klasy podsypki odr&oacute;\u017cniaj\u0105 si\u0119 gorszymi parametrami technicznymi i mechanicznymi.
