Oba wydarzenia dotycz\u0105 przebicia pierwszych z dwóch tuneli znajduj\u0105cych si\u0119 na trasie. Pierwszym z nich jest Bibratunnel o d\u0142ugo\u015bci 6,5 km, natomiast drugim jest Finnetunnel o d\u0142ugo\u015bci 7,5 km. Dzi\u0119ki temu wszystkie trzy tunele znajduj\u0105ce si\u0119 na trasie zosta\u0142y ju\u017c przebite, teraz nast\u0105pi ich wyka\u0144czanie. Linia Erfurt –Halle o d\u0142ugo\u015bci 123 km ma zosta\u0107 otwarta w 2015 roku. Dzi\u0119ki tej inwestycji czas jazdy z Erfurtu do Halle zostanie skrócony do 30 minut, natomiast do Lipska do 38 minut.
