Rok 2004 okaza\u0142 si\u0119 jeszcze lepszy, bowiem zysk operacyjny wzr\u00f3s\u0142 z 5 do 37 milion\u00f3w euro. Wzros\u0142y tak\u017ce obroty do poziomu 1 242 000 euro. Ten pozytywny wynik osi\u0105gni\u0119to pomimo niewielkiego spadku sprzeda\u017cy pojazd\u00f3w do 6 062 sztuk. W liczbie tej zawiera si\u0119 3 162 autobusy integralne MAN i Neoplan, 2 159 platform pod\u0142ogowych i podwozi MAN dla firm zewn\u0119trznych oraz 617 autobus\u00f3w MAN sprzedanych w postaci zestaw\u00f3w do monta\u017cu CKD. Udzia\u0142 koncernu w rynku niemieckim minimalnie spad\u0142 do poziomu 30,6% (przy spadku \u0142\u0105cznej liczby nowych rejestracji o 6,6%). Niewielki wzrost udzia\u0142\u00f3w NeoMAN zanotowa\u0142 natomiast na rynku europejskim. G\u0142\u00f3wnymi czynnikami, kt\u00f3re przyczyni\u0142y si\u0119 do wzrostu zysk\u00f3w by\u0142y: przeniesienie najbardziej pracoch\u0142onnych prac monta\u017cowych do zak\u0142ad\u00f3w w Polsce i Turcji, unikanie nierentownych przedsi\u0119wzi\u0119\u0107, opracowanie nowych modeli autobus\u00f3w, bazuj\u0105cych na wsp\u00f3lnej platformie oraz prowadzeni ci\u0105g\u0142ego procesu optymalizacji koszt\u00f3w i proces\u00f3w produkcyjnych. W ramach tzw. projektu &#8222;ProNeo&#8221;, w 2004 r. rozbudowano np. zak\u0142ady w Ankarze do zdolno\u015bci produkcyjnych 2000 autobus\u00f3w rocznie. Zmiany zasz\u0142y tak\u017ce w zarz\u0105dzie MAN Nutzfahrzeuge. Trzy nowe modele zaprezentowane w Hanowerze podczas targ\u00f3w IAA w 2004 r. (Neoplan Trendliner, Neoplan Starliner i MAN Lion&#8217;s Regio) zosta\u0142y dobrze przyj\u0119te przez rynek i zd\u0105\u017cy\u0142y sobie zapewni\u0107 nagrod\u0119 za wzornictwo &#8222;iF Design Award&#8221;.
