Otrzyma\u0142y one w&oacute;wczas numery inwentarzowe 93 i 114 (jeszcze w tym samym roku przenumerowano je na 2093 i 2114). Wi\u0119ksza dostawa autobus&oacute;w Jelcz 272 Mex w liczbie 24 szt. nast\u0105pi\u0142a w drugiej po\u0142owie 1966 r. i w pierwszej po\u0142owie 1967 r. Ostatnie nowe autobusy Jelcz 272 Mex sprowadzono do Gdyni w 1977 r. \u0141\u0105cznie w latach 1965-77 wprowadzono do eksploatacji 205 autobus&oacute;w Jelcz 272 Mex (w tym 196 nowych i 9 u\u017cywanych) w 12 dostawach. Tzw. og&oacute;rki eksploatowano w Gdyni przez 20 lat. Ostatni zosta\u0142 wycofany z ruchu pod koniec 1984 r., by\u0142 oznaczony numerem 22330 i pochodzi\u0142 z dostawy z 1973 r. Przypomnijmy, \u017ce Jelcza\u0144skie Zak\u0142ady Samochodowe rozpocz\u0119\u0142y produkcj\u0119 autobusu Jelcz 272 Mex w 1963 r. na podstawie licencji Skody 706 RTO (w gdy\u0144skiej komunikacji miejskiej \u0142\u0105cznie eksploatowano 6 tych pojazd&oacute;w, pierwsze 2 od 1959 r. pod numerami 123 i 124, zmienionymi p&oacute;\u017aniej na 2123 i 2124). Czechos\u0142owacki producent dostarcza\u0142 6-cylindrowe silniki wysokopr\u0119\u017cne o mocy 160 KM. Og&oacute;rki osi\u0105ga\u0142y pr\u0119dko\u015b\u0107 maksymaln\u0105 60km\/h, a kierowca musia\u0142 obs\u0142ugiwa\u0107 5-biegow\u0105, niesynchronizowan\u0105, skrzyni\u0119 bieg&oacute;w. Jelcz 272 Mex by\u0142 rozwini\u0119ciem konstrukcji 043 przeznaczonej do obs\u0142ugi komunikacji mi\u0119dzymiastowej, z drzwiami otwieranymi r\u0119cznie (pierwsze Jelcze 043 wprowadzono do gdy\u0144skiej komunikacji miejskiej w 1960 r. pod numerami 140, 141, 142 i 148 zmienionymi p&oacute;\u017aniej na 2140, 2141, 2142 i 2148). Charakterystyczna, nowoczesna jak na owe czasy sylwetka Mex-a kry\u0142a nadwozie konstrukcji szkieletowej osadzonej na pod\u0142u\u017cnicowej, nitowanej ramie. Maksymalnie autobus m&oacute;g\u0142 przewie\u017a\u0107 81 pasa\u017cer&oacute;w, w tym 28 na miejscach siedz\u0105cych. Wysoko\u015b\u0107 wn\u0119trza wynosi\u0142a 1900 mm, a dost\u0119p do niego zapewnia\u0142y pasa\u017cerom dwuskrzyd\u0142owe drzwi sterowane pneumatycznie. Dla kierowcy zapewniono, po lewej stronie pojazdu, osobne drzwi otwierane r\u0119cznie. W charakterystyczne bia\u0142e kierownice by\u0142y wyposa\u017cone prawie wszystkie og&oacute;rki z wyj\u0105tkiem 9 z dostawy z 1976 r., w kt&oacute;rych zainstalowano nietypow\u0105 ma\u0142\u0105 czarn\u0105 kierownic\u0119 &ndash;tak\u0105 jak w Skodzie 9Tr, nr. inw. 359. Pierwsze dwa przegubowe jelcze otrzyma\u0142y numery inwentarzowe 2091 i 2096. Ostatnia dostawa takich autobus&oacute;w nast\u0105pi\u0142a w 1973 r. \u0141\u0105cznie w\u0142\u0105czono do ruchu 30 takich autobus&oacute;w (wszystkie nowe).&nbsp;W 1972 r. Jelcza\u0144skie Zak\u0142ady Samochodowe uruchomi\u0142y produkcj\u0119 Jelcza PR100, a dwa lata p&oacute;\u017aniej Jelcza PR110, opart\u0105 na licencji francuskiego Berlieta.
