Wyniki pokazuj\u0105, \u017ce dzi\u0119ki elektronicznemu systemowi kontroli trakcji ESP o 34% kierowc\u00f3w wi\u0119cej potrafi\u0142o zapanowa\u0107 nad pojazdem, ni\u017c podczas symulowanych jazd autem bez systemu ESP. Wyniki bada\u0144 przedstawiono 8 marca podczas \u015bwiatowego kongresu SAE w Detroit (SAE &#8211; Society of Automotive Engineers). Badanie zosta\u0142o zlecone przez ameryka\u0144sk\u0105 Koalicj\u0119 na rzecz ESP (Electronic Stability Control Coalition), kt\u00f3rej celem jest przybli\u017cenie opinii publicznej zalet wynikaj\u0105cych z zastosowania systemu ESP.<br \/>\nDo przeprowadzenia test\u00f3w naukowcy wykorzystali oficjalny symulator jazdy ameryka\u0144skiego departamentu bezpiecze\u0144stwa drogowego NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Wyniki pokrywaj\u0105 si\u0119 z rezultatami innych, mi\u0119dzynarodowych bada\u0144 i potwierdzaj\u0105, \u017ce ESP w du\u017cym stopniu przyczynia si\u0119 do zmniejszenia liczby ci\u0119\u017ckich kolizji drogowych. R\u00f3wnie\u017c badania na zlecenie koncern\u00f3w takich, jak DaimlerChrysler czy Toyota dowodz\u0105, \u017ce seryjny monta\u017c system\u00f3w ESP pozwoli\u0142by ograniczy\u0107 liczb\u0119 niebezpiecznych wypadk\u00f3w drogowych nawet o 50%.<br \/>\nBosch zaprojektowa\u0142 system ESP we wsp\u00f3\u0142pracy z koncernem DaimlerChrysler i wprowadzi\u0142 go do produkcji seryjnej w 1995 roku. System ESP rozpoznaje moment wpadania pojazdu w po\u015blizg i skutecznie zapobiega mu, redukuj\u0105c moment obrotowy silnika oraz wyhamowuj\u0105c poszczeg\u00f3lne ko\u0142a. Od chwili debiutu na rynku Bosch wyprodukowa\u0142 ponad 10 milion\u00f3w system\u00f3w ESP, a na rok 2004 zaplanowano produkcj\u0119 kolejnych 4 milion\u00f3w.
